International Day of Translation and Interpretation

The International Translation and Interpretation Day was established in 1991 by the International Federation of Translators (FIT) and is celebrated every year on September 30th, aiming to highlight the demands of the industry and the difficulties of the profession worldwide. In 2017, it was officially recognized by the UN General Assembly, since FIT as an NGO is a partner of UNESCO. The World Federation of Translators has 100 members from 55 countries, representing more than 80,000 professional translators and interpreters. Source: https://www.sansimera.gr/worldays/169
